what is backlit (translucent stone) and where to use it?

Backlit translucent stone is a type of natural stone that has been specially treated to allow light to pass through it, creating a stunning visual effect. The stone is carved or cut to allow light to shine through, and it is then backlit with LED lights to create a beautiful glow.

Backlit translucent stone can be used in a variety of applications, including interior and exterior architectural features, such as wall cladding, flooring, countertops, and bars. It can also be used in decorative features, such as sculptures, water features, and furniture.

The use of backlit translucent stone in interior design has become increasingly popular in recent years, as it creates a unique and modern aesthetic that can add value to any space. It is often used in high-end residential and commercial properties, including hotels, restaurants, and office buildings.

The natural beauty of the stone, combined with the stunning visual effect of backlighting, makes backlit translucent stone a popular choice for designers and architects who want to create a dramatic and visually striking feature in their projects.

How do we make it?

  1. Choose a translucent stone or acrylic sheet that will work well for backlighting. The stone should be thin enough to allow light to shine through, but thick enough to provide durability.

  2. Determine the size of the stone and cut the LED strip lights to match the length of the stone. You can use a utility knife or scissors to cut the LED strip lights to the desired length.

  3. Strip the insulation from the end of the electrical wires using wire strippers. You will need to connect the LED strip lights to the power supply, so make sure you have enough wire to make the connections.

  4. Solder the wires to the LED strip lights. Connect the positive wire to the positive (+) terminal of the LED strip lights and the negative wire to the negative (-) terminal of the LED strip lights.

  5. Use heat shrink tubing to cover the soldered connections. This will protect the connections and prevent them from coming loose.

  6. Attach the LED strip lights to the back of the translucent stone or acrylic sheet using adhesive tape. Make sure the LED strip lights are evenly spaced and centered on the back of the stone.
